A Forest Dark

a novel by

J.A. Waldin

Philip Hyde does something unthinkable. He decides to become a poet, and things are looking good. Until he is diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Unable, unwilling, and uneducated about the diagnosis, his mind becomes overrun. And the young man is transformed into something else … something dark, fierce, and threatened.

When nothing seems to help, and pushed to the brink, Philip turns to mindfulness blended with modern western medicine to forge a potent tool of healing.

In that dark forest, Philip discovers what that affliction has to teach him about himself, those closest to him, and the very nature of the thought and emotion.

"We are not our thoughts, and we are not our emotions."

~ Philip Hyde
